September 16, 2018, Drop Your Drawers + Share Your Socks

Yes! We dropped our drawers and raised our socks on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the coming home Community Day with Lava Mae.

Our affiliated organization, Lava Mae,, appeared at this afternoon of art, technology and community at Proxy SF in the Hayes Valley. And they invited us to join them.

This free, family-friendly, public event gave Urban Angels SF the opportunity to educate passersby and spread our cheerful propaganda about the work we do with the unhoused.

We called our event Drop Your Drawers + Share Your Socks since we were appealing to the public to bring new pairs of socks and underwear for our unhoused neighbors.

Yes, new and clean undies are the most precious products we can bring our friends who live on the street.

Our station at the Proxy SF event was right next to Lava Mae’s showering facility which served as a public demonstration will of how Lava Mae offers radical hospitality in the form of showers and bathrooms for folks who are unhoused.

You can see by the photo how much fun we were having. From left to right were Cat DuPont, Francine Brevetti (and dog Rosa), Carol Dolighan, Victoria Fisk (with pooch Samadhi), Tatsiana Barysava, Elizabeth Hager, and founder Nelson Barry.

See how we are smiling?
