The best part of UASF’s holiday gift program
You (and your family, friends, group, business, church, community, etc) are invited to be Angels for children in dire need this holiday season by Adopting a Shelter!
You choose the number of children you or your group wish to “adopt” — meaning you are offering to be responsible for 1 gift per child (approximately $35-50 value retail) — through UASF’s Give Joy! Adopt-A-Shelter program. 🎁
To participate, sign up on the form below now so you have enough time to from now so you can have enough time to get the gifts and deliver them to the shelter in early December. You will be provided with a list of the ages of the children for whom you will be shopping.
In order not to exploit the children’s situation and out of respect for their living conditions, you will be dropping off your holiday gifts to the shelter manager. You will not be meeting the children or their families — however the shelter manager will be invited to provide thank you notes and photographs from them. Your heart will melt with joy when you read them!
Many of these children live with their families in transitional shelters, where they can be forced out after 90 days. Other residents there struggle with physical and mental health issues, addiction and poverty which makes this a particularly challenging environment for the children. Your generosity will bring incredible holiday joy to them and their families and brighten their spirits for days!
How it works
First, sign up using the form below ✅
Second, you will Receive an email reply from UASF soon with easy-to-follow instructions and the list of your children's ages 💌
Third, you and your group will shop for the gifts and deliver them in 1 batch in early December to an associate at the shelter, labeled (and possibly wrapped, depending on the shelter’s preferences). You will be provided the name and contact information of your shelter associate with whom you will coordinate regarding the dropoff date and time 🎁
Lastly, the children themselves, their parents or the shelter managers may send you notes of appreciation and possibly photographs in the weeks following the delivery of your gifts. You are encouraged to share them amongst your group but not on social media or publicly out of respect for them. ❤️
