5th Annual Campaign EXTENDED THRU AUGUST 7th, 2023Elementary school children from families in poverty lack many of the advantages of their more well-off peers especially when it comes to educational support. To address this, the Annual Urban Angels SF School Supplies & Backpacks program launched in 2019, providing 130 children from low-income or non-income families with new, high-quality backpacks filled with new school supplies — and now, our goal is 1,000 children in need receiving these essential supplies!
The children who receive these backpacks and school supplies start off the school year with a sense of pride, confidence and hope. Teachers and administrators support the generous giving of UASF donors and the volunteers who make it possible.
All the children who benefit from this program live and go to school in San Francisco and almost all of the financial support and volunteers come from City residents too. This is community coming together in order for those who can share to do so for the benefit of their neighbors who need help the most; children from poor or destitute families.
It is a great source of pride for UASF to be part of this wonderful spirit!
