Give Joy! For The Children: Adopt-A-Shelter this holiday season

Fall is officially here! 🍂🎃🍁 And that means Urban Angels SF is preparing for the Give Joy! annual holiday gift drive for the children.

You and your family, friends, business, or organization can help children in shelters to feel joy this holiday season by ensuring they have a gift to open.

This year, UASF has chosen to work with transitional shelters, places where families live temporarily (fewer than 90 days) as they work to move into a permanent home.

Life is often extremely chaotic for families living in transitional shelters. As parents put their money toward getting permanent housing and other vital needs, gifts can be very hard to come by – and some cannot buy any gifts at all. Your family, group of friends, organization, or company can help Give Joy by generously Adopting-A-Shelter.

Adopting-A-Shelter means being responsible for gifts for at least 15 children at the cost of $35-50 per gift, and delivering these gifts to the shelter. Sign up using this form from now through early November.

After UASF has received the lists of children from the managers of the temporary shelters, you’ll be paired with the specific shelter children whom you and your group will “adopt.” These lists will be ready in early November, so you can shop in stores, online, or even on Black Friday to get the gifts for each child.
