UASF’s 2025 Impact: Ten Years of Showing Up = 500,000 Neighbors Served
A decade of compassion, community, and what comes next
This year marks a milestone we’re deeply grateful for: 10 years of Urban Angels SF.
Ten years ago, Urban Angels SF began with a simple idea—to show up, listen, and respond with compassion for our San Francisco neighbors living on the streets. What started in 2015 as a small group of senior citizens handing out burritos became something much bigger: a promise to keep showing up for our neighbors in need, no matter what.
Over the past decade, that promise has grown into action.
Because when basic needs are met, something powerful happens—people begin to feel hope.
A Decade of Impact
In our first ten years, together we have supported more than 500,000 San Francisco neighbors in need, providing:
65,000 bags of clothing
6 tons of groceries
49,000 hot meals
8,000 holiday gifts
These numbers represent more than supplies—they represent moments of dignity, relief, and human connection. A warm meal. A clean jacket. A reminder that someone sees you and cares.
From Meeting Immediate Needs to Building Long-Term Change
As Urban Angels SF grew, so did our understanding of what lasting impact requires.
Meeting immediate needs matters. But breaking the cycle of poverty requires investment in long-term solutions—especially education.
So we took an important step forward: shifting from simply responding to urgent needs to also investing in pathways that create opportunity.
Because education is one of the most powerful tools for change.
Over the past ten years, Urban Angels SF has already provided educational support to 15,000 children—and we are just getting started.
What We’ve Built—And What’s Ahead
In 2025 alone:
220 children enrolled in free, one-on-one tutoring
1,000 backpacks and school supplies distributed during our 7th Annual Backpack Drive
Our Library Program launched, distributing 1,200 books to two shelters
And in 2026, we’re taking the next step: launching parenting classes, because educational support doesn’t stop in the classroom.

Urban Angels SF is powered by people—by volunteers of all ages who believe in showing up. Over the past decade, volunteers have donated more than 50,000 hours of their time.
Our work is only possible because of our incredible donors, sponsors, and partners who believe in compassion, dignity, and community-driven solutions.
Together, we’ve built something lasting.
And together, we’re just getting started.
As we look ahead to the next decade, we remain committed to listening, responding, and growing—side by side with our San Francisco neighbors. We are on a mission to “Give the gift of a lifetime: Education.”
